I couldn't have said it better myself. It is an absolute fact that children who are musically trained are better students, for all of the reasons listed above, and also because music teaches teamwork, discipline, higher ordered abstract thinking, and interpersonal skills. Cutting music programs in schools cripples our society unless that skill is taught some other way. Support the arts. Get your kids involved. This has nothing to do with talent and everything to do with building skills.
